ADDISON - Ralph M. Gray, 72, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, surrounded by h is loving family and friends at home, after a brief but courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born Feb. 13, 1935, in Addison, the son of the late Maynard R. and Florence (Worcester) Gray. He was an avid sportsman, loved to gamble and spend time at the horse races and fairs. He worked various jobs throughout his life and the last 17 years prior to retirement at Jasper Wyman & Sons. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Norma (Wass) Gray; sons, Edwin and wife, Ellen, of Topsham, Danny and wife, Juanita, of Addison, Alice (Gray) and husband, Bruce Grindle, of Ellsworth, Jean (Gray) and husband, Lester Burgess, of Harrington; 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey and fiancée, Lana, Jamie Gray of Topsham, Daniel and wife, Malinda, William Gray of Addison, Jessica, Dominique and Angie Grindle of Ellsworth, Lester III and wife, Rachel, Matthew and Jodi Burgess of Harrington; two great-grandchildren, Michael and McKenzie Gray of Addison; his beloved dog, Blondie; five sisters, Dorothy Alley, Margaret and her husband, Chester Lenfestey, Beatrice and her husband, "Tuddy" Urquhart, Joanne and her husband, Lee Rathbun, Norma and her husband, Lew Milam; a sister-in-law, Lois and her husband, Charlie Farnsworth; a brother-in-law, Edwin and wife, May Forsythe. He had five very special nieces and nephews, which he grew up with and considered as brothers and sisters. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth. He will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews and close friends. A graveside service will be held 1 p. m. Saturday, May 12, at Indian River Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held after at Indian River Grange Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Norma Gray, 1431 Indian River Road, Addison, ME 04606 for expenses and help with the Indian River Cemetery Society.
