HERMAN BARNHART VICTIM OF APOPLEXY
One more death was added to the many which have occurred in this community within the past two weeks, on Monday morning, when Herman Barnhart, one of the young men of the town was stricken down by apoplexy.

Mr. Barnhart had been moderately ill a week or two before with a threatened attack of typhoid fever, but had recovered and was again able to be at work. He went to the country on Monday to help operate a bean threshing machine and was working with the engine when the sudden illness overcame him.

His brother, Vance, called for a physician and started at once for home with the sick man, who had lapsed into unconsciousness quickly after the first symptoms of illness had manifested themselves. Medical aid could do nothing for the sick man and he died at eleven o'clock without regaining consciousness.

The funeral was held privately at the home at 2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. E. M. Carr, pastor of the Christian church officiating. The burial was in Eaton cemetery.

Herman Harold Barnhart was born at Windsor, Illinois on March 18, 1891. At the age of thirteen years he went with his parents to Hazen, Ark., and spent seven years there, coming to Ault in 1911.

He was married to Miss Augusta Timm on July 3, 1917, and to their union one child, a daughter, was born three months ago.
Herman Barnhart became a member of the Ash Grove, Illinois, while he was still in his boyhood and after coming to Ault transferred his membership to the local church. He lived a consistent Christian life, a life that was without reproach and that won and held for him the esteem and good will of those about him.

He is survived by his wife and mother , Mrs. H. W. Barnhart, two sisters, Mrs. E. C. Andrews of Ault and Mrs. Effie Rankin of Windsor, Ill., and two brothers, Valentine Barnhart, of Windsor, Ill., and Vance of Ault.
