John A. Bonham, age 92, of Lititz, PA, died on September 12, 2010. He was born in Bridgeton, NJ, the son of Irving and Margaret Bonham. Bonham and his wife, Edna, who passed away in 2007, had been married 50 years.

After high school, he served 4-½ years in the US Army 4th General Hospital during WWII. It was while stationed in Australia that he met his wife.

Following the service, he earned a B.S. degree from West Chester State College and an M.A. degree from Peabody College, Vanderbilt University. He did additional graduate work to qualify for the school administrator's certificate.

He was on the faculty of the High School, High Point, NC; Junior High School, West Chester, PA; High School, Lower Marion; and Junior High School, Coatesville, PA. He retired in 1978 after fifteen years as principal of a Middle School, Coatesville, PA. In addition, he taught two summer sessions at Indiana State University, Indiana, PA. Bonham has written a number of articles and book reviews which appeared in educational journals. He was past president of the Coatesville Rotary Club.

Upon retirement, the Bonhams moved to Pawlet, VT, where they lived for more than seven years. They have lived in Lititz since June, 1986. Jack is a member of the Lititz Moravian Congregation.

He is survived by Gail Hunt, niece, and Wayne Pompper, nephew, both from Bridgeton, NJ.

A private memorial service will be held for members of the family and closest friends. Memorial contributions may be sent to Moravian Manor.
