Singer. He was a fine tenor and the portly centerpiece singer for the Grammy winning pop group "The Fifth Dimension." One of the founding members, he performed right up until poor health forced him to retire in 1997. The group's smooth mixture of pop, jazz, gospel and R&B led to four Grammys in 1968 for "Up, Up and Away". In addition, Ron also appeared on television and in films, including 1992s "The Mambo Kings." Originally from St. Louis and a graduate of Sumner High School, he was living in Las Vegas at the time of his death.
