Charles "Chuck" M. Anderson, 53, of Hallsville, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Mr. Anderson was born July 1, 1949, in Fort Dodge.

He married Colette Fitzgerald on Dec. 17, 1971, in Clare, Iowa, and she survives.

He graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1968. He attended Iowa State University and Iowa Central Community College.

He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the U.S.S. Will Rogers Nuclear Submarine.

He moved to Hallsville in 1977 with his wife.

He worked at the University of Missouri-Columbia as the lead senior reactor operator.

He was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, and served as its financial secretary for 11 years.

Survivors also include a son, two daughters, his mother, Agnes Anderson of Fort Dodge, Iowa; a sister and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emil Anderson; and two sisters, Phyllis Olmstead and Mary Elaine Anderson.
