Mrs. Rhoda B. Elliott, 63, wife of Harold Elliott, Beechertown, died at 8 o'clock Monday, Aug. 21, 1961, at Alice Hyde Hospital, Malone. She was born in Brasher Falls Feb. 7, 1893, the daughter of Dr. George and Lily Mae Church Baker. She graduated from Brasher and Stockholm High School. On Oct. 22, 1918 she and Harold Elliott were married in Brasher Falls. They have lived in Beechertown 43 years, operating a farm there. Until 1954 Mr. Elliott operated the Winthrop GLF Store
She was a member of the Buckton Methodist Church, WSCS and was organist and choir director many years. She was also active in 4-H Club work.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Baker Elliott, Norwood; two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Sarah) Payne of Pawling, N. Y, and Mrs, William (Marilyn) Rodee of Canton; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Ober, Brasher. Falls, Miss Rena Baker, Saranac Lake, Miss Rachel Baker, Rita Steenburg of Little Rock, Ark.; four grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Buckton Cemetery.
