George W. Beets died Sunday afternoon at his home on the Atherton-Twyman road. His death followed a brief illness.
The funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Salem church. Burial at the Salem cemetery. Independence Lodge A. F. and A. M. of which Mr. Beets was a life member, will conduct the masonic ritual services at the grave.
George W. Beets was 80 years and six months old. Most of his long life was spent in Jackson county. He was a farm owner and made his home on a farm. Mr. Beets never married. His interests were in his business and his community and he was a churchman and a lodgeman.
Mr. Beets leaves three brothers and one sister, Berry Beets, H. R. Beets, J.. D. Beets and Mrs. Johyn Hiffner. He also leaves seven nephews and nieces. A brother. Henry R. Beets, lived at the home with him.
His mother lived with him before her death.
