Jan. 31, 1923, he married Selma Combrink in St. Louis. A paint contractor, he lived in Mt. Pleasant for 75 years.
Surviving: his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Dale Boal, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Charles Besard, Baton Rouge, La./ three sons, Ralph Dodds, Corpus Christi, Texas; Dale Dodds, Des Moines; Wendell Dodds, Mt. Pleasant; 16 grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Huston, Winfield, and Mrs. Sebyl Farr, Mt. Pleasant.
Services: 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, at First Baptist church, Mt. Pleasant, the Rev. Ronald Hutchings, pastor of Adelphi Calvary Baptist church, Runnels, Iowa, and Rev. Peter Siemens, First Baptist church, Mt. Pleasant, officiating. Burial in Forest Home cemetery. The body at Crane-Ewart-Young Funeral Home.
