RANDALL VINING, PIONEER CITIZEN, SUCCUMBS AT 94
Funeral services were held Monday at 3 pm for Randall Lee Vining, 94, well-known pioneer resident of West Carroll Parish, who died in the Delhi clinic early Sunday morning. The Rev. Dan Green officiated at the rites which were conducted from the First Baptist Church in Oak Grove. Interment was in the old Forest Cemetery under the direction of Gay's Funeral Home.
Mr. Vining, Ward Three Justice of the Peace, was the oldest elected officer in Louisiana at the time of his death. He also had served two terms as Ward Three Police Juror, from 1924 to 1932. He was widely known as a hunter in his younger days and could tell fascinating tales of the hunt from is earlier experiences in the Northeast Delta section.
Mr. Vining is survived by his 2nd wife:
