Edna Ward was taken to the Masonic Widows and Orphans Home in Louisville on Sept 28, 1883 by Judge JR Botts of Carter County, KY. Three of her siblings were also taken to the orphanage, Garnett, Joseph, and Cerro Gordo Ward, because both parents were deceased.

She left the home in Aug 1889 to go visit relatives and did not return. She was discharged by the request of the Trimble Masonic Lodge in Carter County, KY. She ended up in Arkansas with her eldest brother, BW Ward, and is buried in the same cemetery as him and his family. It is unknown at this time who her husband was or if she had any children.
