Mrs. Mary Dolan Passes Away.

"Last Saturday morning, Feb. 3, 1917, Mrs. Mary Dolan passed away at the home of her son, A. E. Dolan, at Bridgeport. Mrs. Dolan had been in poor health for several years and about two weeks ago her condition became serious.

Mrs. Dolan was born at Eagle Harbor, Michigan, April 4, 1851. She was married in 1871 to James S. Dolan, who departed this life in 1903. In 1879 the family came to Bodie, where the deceased resided until 1907, when she took up her residence in Bridgeport.

Her life was a long and useful one, and that won her a host of friends, as well as drawing to her the fondest love and devotion of her children. Her retiring nature led her to hide her best qualities from public gaze, but they were revealed to those who enjoyed her acquaintance, yet it was in her home that her true worth was most conspicuous.

The funeral was held at Bodie Tuesday morning, Rev. Father Horgan, of Sparks, Nevada, officiating. Interment was made in the family plot in the Miners’ Union cemetery.

Mrs. Dolan is survived by four daughters, Mrs. W. H. Roach, Mrs. N. G. Welsh, Miss Agnes Dolan, Miss Grace Dolan, three sons, A. E. Dolan, D. F. Dolan, Harry Dolan, three sisters, two brothers and a number of grandchildren.

Behind the storm clouds always lurks the rainbow which follows the storm as it weeps upon the flowers of the land and the pearls of the sea. Darkness precedes the dawning and out of the blackness of night comes the sunshine and joy of the day. And so from the beauty of her life take an inspiration and go forth to live as she lived, so that when the summons comes you may say as did she, “All is well.”
