Miss Maggie Clay was married 11 July 1881 to Robert M. Ferguson, son of Abraham Lunsford Ferguson & Mary Keller (Matson) Ferguson of Fayette County. She was Robert's second wife, his first wife was Anna W Hughes. They had no children (source 1900 US Census).

~Daughter of Late Samuel Clay of Bourbon and Widely Connected~
Mrs. Maggie C. Ferguson, of Lexington, widow of Robert M. Ferguson, of Bourbon County, and daughter of the late Samuel H. Clay, of Bourbon County, died at St. Joseph's Hospital at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon after an operation performed one week ago. Mrs. Ferguson was believed to be rapidly recovering when complications set in and she rapidly sank to rest.
Mrs. Ferguson, who resided on North Broadway between Fourth and Fifth streets, was an aunt of Samuel H. Clay, secretary of the Lexington Commercial Club. Four brothers and one sister now living are B.F. Clay, Homedale, Idaho; H.C. Clay, Caldwell, Idaho; Rev. S.G. Clay, Anderson, Mo.; Charles E. Clay, College Hill, Madison County, Ky., and Mrs. William H. Pierce, Denton, Texas.
Brothers and sister-in-law of the deceased are Mr. A.L. Ferguson, Georgetown; Mrs. James Thompson, Paris; Mrs. V.W. Ferguson, J.W. Ferguson, Mrs. J.M. Hall and Mrs. W.C. Usser, of Paris.
