Dorman L. Davis

ELKTON — Dorman Lewis Davis, 54, of 104 Spotswood Ave., Elkton died Thursday morning at his home of an apparent heart attack.

He was born July 18,1923 at Elkton and was a son of David S. and Gladys Mae Wood Davis of Rt. 2, Elkton.

Mr. Davis worked for A. B. Torrence and Co. and was a veteran of World War II.

On March 21, 1951, he married the former Roberta Hammer, who died Nov. 26,1974.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are three sons, Garland, Ronnie and Douglas Wayne Davis, all of Elkton; one stepson, Richard L. Strickler of Elkton; five sisters, Janice Cofflett of Woodstock, Clara Baugher, Margie Shifflett and Lena Davis, all of Elkton, and Edith Davis of McGaheysville; four brothers, Cecil, Vincent, Mavon and Leroy Davis, all of Elkton, and two step-granddaughters.

The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the Church of Solsburg by the Rev. Morgan Kinney. Burial will be in Elk Run Cemetery with graveside rites by the Gooden Brothers Veterans of Foreign Wars P6st 9292.

The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Saturday at the Brill Funeral Home. Friends also may call at the Davis home.
