Combat Veteran of World War I, injured by mustard gas and schrapnal from a German hand grenade. Suffered terribly from these wounds the rest of his long life. In spite of this he went on to have a full and successful career at the H.J. Heinz Corp. in Pittsburg, Pa. Had two daughters from his first marriage, and married my Aunt Lois in 1936 (I believe). They had no children, but were sole mates nontheless. I was told his family was from what would later be Czeckoslovakia, but of German ethnicity. They settled in the coal fields of Pennsylvania after immigrating to the U.S. He and Aunt Lois moved down to Little Rock, Ark in March of 1971 to be near her family, and to enjoy the warmer climate. They also had frequented the famous bath houses of nearby Hot Springs, Ark which helped the pain of his war injuries. Uncle Frank was a good and kindly man whom I loved and now miss.
Love,
-Mike-
