MRS. DAVID SONIER, FORMER WINFIELD RESIDENT, DIES, Winfield. Funeral rites for Mrs. David Sonier, 63, of Kankakee. Ill.. were held at the Phillips Friday and Schreffler Funeral Home there Tuesday morning, June 28. at 9:30. Burial was in Springdale cemetery at Peoria, Illinois. Mrs. Sonier underwent major surgery at St. , Mary's hospital at Kankakee June 17 and died there June 25. The former Mabel M. Long of Winfield. She was the daughter of the late John A. and Mary E. (Orbin) Long, and was born in Henry county, Iowa near Winfield on January 20. 1892. She was married to David F. Sonier in May, 1940, and had been a resident of Kankakee county 15 years. She is survived, by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Eva Hooper of Homewood, Illinois and Mrs. Mae Murray of Hammond, Indiana, one son, Edward J. Rabideau of Chicago Heights, Illinois, four four grandchildren, two brothers,, Robert Long of Dumont, Iowa and William D. Long of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, five sisters, Mrs. B. E. Garrels of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Mrs. Ceila Saling of Winfield, Iowa, Mrs. H. O. Herron of Alexis, Illinois, Mrs. Arthur Gruenjes of Burlington, Iowa and Mrs. V. A. Kronfuss of Shakopee Minnesota, and a number of nephews and nieces. Her parents two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
