Daughter of John C. and Martha A. (Ordom) Pickens. Married Samuel Augustus Weller on 11 Jan 1885 in Muskingum County, OH. Mother of Louise b. 23 Jul 1896 and Ethel E. b. 26 Jul 1898.

Mrs. Minnie C. Weller, 92, widow of Samuel A. Weller, prominent Zanesville pottery manufacturer, died shortly before noon Monday at Good Samaritan hospital. She had been in failing health for some time, but a brief illness of pneumonia was the immediate cause of death. Her condition became serious Sunday and she was admitted Sunday night.
Mrs. Weller had lived for 62 years in the 22-room former Blandy mansion at Market and Sixth streets, a house that was built during the Civil War period and purchased by her husband in 1892.
She was the former Minnie Pickens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. and Martha Ordom Pickens. She was born April 14, 1862, in New Castle, Indiana.
Her husband, whose death occurred in 1925, was the founder of the S. A. Weller pottery. He entered the pottery business at Fultonham in the 1870's and came to Zanesville in 1882. For the next half-century, Weller pottery ware became famous the world over.
Older residents remember that it was Mr. Weller and his wife who became the owners of Zanesville's first automobile.
The Weller theater on North Third street was built at the turn of the century by Mr. Weller.
Surviving Mrs. Weller are a daughter, Mrs. William Curphey, 934 Convers avenue; two grand-daughters, Mrs. Patricia Grant Gilger of Cincinnati and Mrs. Ethel Louise Lopez of Miami Beach, Fla.; three grandsons, Sam A. Smith and Frederic J. Grant, III, both of the U. S. Navy, and William Curphey, Jr. of Convers avenue; four great-grandchildren and a niece, Mrs. Herminnie Weber at the home. A daughter, Mrs. Louise Smith, is deceased.
The body is at the Hearing-Bryan-DeLong funeral home and will be returned to the residence this afternoon. Friends may call after 4 o'clock.
Private funeral services will be conducted at the residence at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Rev. H. M. McAdow, pastor of the Grace Methodist church, will officiate. Entombment will be in the Woodlawn mausoleum.
