MRS. LEAH WELLER
Died on Monday, March 8, Mrs. Leah Weller, age 82 years, 11 months and 22 days, at the home of her son, W. J. Weller of this city.
She was born in Richard(Richland) County, Ohio, March 17, 1825. When she was quite young her parents moved to Muskingum County, the same state.
She married Adam Pletcher in 1843 and to this union two children were born, one of whom survives her, J. W. Pletcher of Smith Center, Kansas.
Her husband being drowned she married J. W. Weller in 1850, and to this union seven children were born, four of whom survive her, three daughters and one son: Mrs. S. J. Lewis and W. J. Weller of this city, Mrs. B. E. Lewis of Watkins, Colorado.(and Mrs. W. H. Penton).
Mrs. Weller united with the Lutheran Church when quite young and lived a faithful life in this until she moved to Iowa in 1867 when she joined the M. E. Church, to which she belonged at the time of her death. She was a faithful Christian throughout a long life, and a loving wife and mother.
The funeral services were held in the M. E. Church, Wray, Wednesday afternoon, the services being conducted by the pastor, Rev. Albert J. McCulloch, and the remains were tenderly laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery.
Mrs. Weller was stricken with paralysis about four months ago, and from this stroke she never recovered, she peacefully falling into the last sleep Monday afternoon.
