Harold married Vera (Mathis) Frazier on May 18, 2000 in Hood River, Oregon. He lived in the Wyandotte, Oklahoma area for eight years after moving from Oregon. Harold enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on cars. He was a member of the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma.
Survivors include his wife Vera; his children Betty Wollam and Sherry Taylor of Milwaukie, Oregon and Harold D. Smith Jr. of Hood River, Oregon; stepchildren Darrell Frazier and Dale & Anita Frazier of Wyandotte, Oklahoma and Brenda Brock of Fairland, Oklahoma; brother Tommy Ray Waldon of Hood River, Oregon and sister Vestena "Foxie" Emerson of Grove, Oklahoma; grandchildren Michelle, Aaron, Jaret, Alicha and Darrick. Harold was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma L. Smith, and his son Johnny A. Smith.
Indian services were held Friday September 17, 2010 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma with Ceremonial Chief Charlie Deibold officiating. Visitation followed the service.
Hood River services were held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Anderson's Tribute Center followed by gravesite service at Mountain View Cemetery in Hood River, Oregon.
