Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Kissinger, an Army Private in the Spanish American War, volunteered for Walter Reed's Yellow Fever Experiment. Left paralized from the waist down and living with pain, he never looked at himself as a hero. After the death of Clara Maass in 1901, also a volunteer, public outcry ended the human experimentation. He was featured in the movie Yellow Jacket, where he served as a consultant.
