Jack J. Eades, 77 of Decatur, IL, died 4:30 A.M., Wednesday September 1, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 5 to 8 P.M., Friday, September 3, 2010 at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL. with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorial may be made to: DMH and St. Mary's Hospice. Jack was born June 21, 1933 in Oakley, IL, the son of Benjamin Harrison & Minnie M (Whitney) Eades. He married Melba Thompson on October 8, 1955 in Decatur, IL. Jack was a member of Life Foursquare Church. He retired from Bridgestone Firestone as a Quality Control Foreman. Jack was a avid golfer, especially at Sun-N-Fun Golf Club. He was a member of the "Grasshoppers" Golf Assn. and enjoyed spending winters in Florida. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Melba of Decatur, IL; sons Tom Eades and Todd Eades, both of Decatur, IL.; sisters Madelyn VanPraag of Decatur, IL., Ann (Bruce) Henderson of Mayfield, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Herbert & Raymond Eades, and two sisters Ethel Hillman and Mildred Stare
