Grandson Of Poet Longfellow Dies At 69

Cambridge, Mass. (AP) – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Dana, 69, grandson of the poet Longfellow, was found dead yesterday in the family homestead where he was custodian of the Longfellow and Dana family records.
A bachelor, he lived alone in a second floor apartment of the old Longfellow home on Brattle Street. A physician said Dana died from a heart ailment.
His mother was Edith Longfellow, called “Edith with golden hair” by her father in his famous “Children’s Hours.” His father was Richard Henry Dana, son of the author of “Two Years Before the Mast.”
