She was born April 21, 1909, in Lorain, and was a lifelong resident

She graduated from Lorain High School in the class of 1927A.

Ms. Cherry was employed as an office manager in the insurance industry and was a notary public for 45 years. She retired from Hill Insurance Agency, Oberlin, after 15 years in 1974.

She was past director, vice president, secretary and treasurer of Lorain City Association.

She was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Lorain Women's Bowling Hall of Fame in 1983. She served as treasurer of the Saxon Club Bowling League for 30 years. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, where she was a 50-year member of the Philathea Class, and she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and working crossword puzzles.

Survivors include nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Teressa (nee Zenz) Cherry; and sister, June Dobbins.

Friends may call Friday, 7 to 9 p.m., at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain, where services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Darlene Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
