Father: Anders Anderson III was a carpenter. The family was contacted by the Mormon missionaries and Mother, Greta "Britta" (at age 45), and Father, Anders (at age 50), were baptized member of the LDS Church on 12 Oct 1879. However, just two months later Anders died on 12 Dec 1879.

This left Britta, with 7 (living) children ranging in age from 17 to 2 year old. Life was very difficult for the family. Britta took in washing and ironing to earn a little money, and they farmed most of their food. Besides attending grammar school, the boys worked on farms and the girls worked as maid & house keepers

During 1892, brother Erick William immigrated to SLC Utah. Sister, Ellen Josefina immigrated during 1893 and brother, Alfred John immigrated during 1896. During 1899 Mother, Brita, sister, Britta Christina "Stena" and Caroline "Lena" immigrated to SLC, Utah. (Dates based on 1900 U.S. Census)

Carolina, a very small, lovely, and petite girl. When visited her sister, she became attracted to a tall, strong young Swedish man, Emil Westling, who lived at the boarding house. Carolina's brother, Erick, who also lived at the boarding house, was courting a young lady, Ellen Pearson. The two couples decided to get married. Thus, on 16 January 1901, a great double wedding feast was held, and Carolina and her brother were each civilly married.
