William Ehlert Sr. 85, died at 1:30 this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carl Weber, following an illness of one year and six months.
He had spent most of his life in this community, on a farm in the town of Waukechon for a number of years, 10 years as a watchman at the papermill, and three years employed at the Iwen box factory.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon from the home at 1:30 p.m. to St James Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. in charge of the Rev. W. M. Schroth. The body will be taken from the Schweers funeral home to the residence Sunday afternoon where it will remain until the hour of the funeral.
Mr. Ehlert was born in Germany on January 9, 1856 and came to this country in 1873 [1876]. He was married to Elizabeth [Louise] Braatz in 1878 [1880].
Survivors include 10 children Mrs. William Stubbe, Milwaukee; Mrs. Henry Foley, Daggett, Mich., John and Richard of Milwaukee, Arthur and George of Gresham, Ted of Shawano, Mrs. Carl Weber of Shawano and Mrs. Arnold Krueger of Fond du Lac.
