Claude Melvin Bagwell, 82, of 701 Edwards Mill Road, Taylors, SC, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at his home following an extended illness.

Born April 27, 1928 in Pelham, Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late John Tee and Della Bagwell. He was predeceased by his late wife, Addie Lee "Terry" Bagwell, and step-son, Jack Marion Pepper.

He was retired after serving twenty-three years in the military as an SSG-E7 Army Sergeant Master Chef. He was a member of Light House Baptist Church, Taylors, SC.

Surviving are his step daughter, Mrs. Bobby Denise Ferguson; six grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the MJ "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery in Anderson.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in Lighthouse Baptist Church, Taylors.
