Survivors include three sons, Melvin M. Smith of Santa Rosa, California, James L. Smith of Menard and Gerald Smih of Cleveland, Texas; a daughter, Evelyn Frick of Comanche; three brothers, Rev. J. L. Mayhew of Abilene, Elmo Mayhew of Winters and Weldon Mayhew of Fort Worth; two sisters, Minnie Ward of California and Juanita Yates of Baytown; eight grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
Graveside services for Vesta Elizabeth Smith were held at 4 p.m. Monday, April 4, in Bluff Creek Cemetery in Winters with the Rev. J. L. Mayhew officiating, directed by Comanche Funeral Home.
