Services Are Friday For Venda Jahnel
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 5, at First Lutheran Church for Venda Faye Jahnel, 56, who died at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair November 2, 1982.
The Rev. Carl Schattauer, Jr., will conduct the services. Burial will be in Blair Cemetery.
Venda Faye Jahnel was born July 26, 1926*, at Orum, Nebraska, to Hans R. and Karen Hansen Christensen. She married Robert Jahnel on February 1, 1945, at First Lutheran Church in Blair.
She attended Cummings City School, Blair High School and Dana College. She taught school in the rural Blair area and worked at Dana College. She had been Deputy Clerk of the County Court of Washington County for 14 years.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Danish Brotherhood.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Jahnel of Blair; one daughter, Mrs. Dean (Sylvia) Christensen, Lincoln; and one son, Richard Jahnel, Blair. Three grandchildren; two brothers, Harold E. Christensen and Tage Christenssen, both of Blair; and one sister, Mrs. Harriett Betts, Blair, also survive her.
Pallbearers will be Larry Betts, Curtis Christensen, Jeffrey Christensen, Steve Christensen, Duane Nielsen and Steve Sibbernsen.
Betty Kirk will be the organist.
Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
