Forest “Hoggy” Adams, Sr., was born April 3, 1921, in Nappanee, the son of George and Anna (Newcomer) Adams. He spent most of his life in the Nappanee area. He was employed for 20 years a t the St. Julian Winery in Paw Paw, Mich., and had also worked for the Lutes Service Station and the Nappanee Milling Company. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in the infantry.

He is survived by eight daughters, three sons, 38 grandchildren 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Jean Weldy, and Roseanna Adams, four grandchildren and two brothers, Winifred Adams and Chester Adams.

Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Thompson & Yoder Funeral Home in Nappanee. The Rev. Dan Guard of St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Woodland will officiate with burial to be made in Union Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association. He was a member of the Nappanee American Legion. March 1, 1989.
