Hannah Mary Greetham was born on May 5, 1895 in
Gateshead, Durham, England. Citations from 1895 England Birth Registry which matches the Nov. 1908 intake report from Quarriers Orphan Home in Scotland.

She had lived in Edinburgh, Scotland with her mother Jane and sister Lily from 1900 until she was placed in the orphan home.

Quarriers sent her to Canada in 1910 as a child migrant. She emigrated to the US in 1912. Later she moved to Carlton, NY where she first married Walter E. Arter in 1916 and then Erwin L. Ausman in 1922.

Despite the struggles in her life, she successfully raised her children, all of whom were honor roll students. The boys all went on to serve in WWII before settling down to raise their families. Hannah passed in 1942, survived by her husband Erwin and children.
