Charles C. "Chic" Apple 90, of McCordsville, died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Hancock Regional Hospital after a short illness. He was born August 18, 1919 in McCordsville to the late Frank R. and Mary E. (Kingen) Apple, who preceded him death.

He graduated from Mt. Comfort High School in 1938 and attended Indiana Central College. He married Louise Seyfferle on August 17, 1940. He was the Postmaster of the McCordsville Post Office for 30 years, retiring in 1980. He prepared taxes for many years, retiring in 2008.

Chic was a ball turret gunner for the Army Air Force in WWII, serving in Italy. He was a member of the Eden F&AM Lodge No. 477, and Past Master of the McCordsville Lodge No. 501. He was Past Patron of the McCordsville Order of the Eastern Star No. 156, and the Eden Order of the Eastern Star No. 101. Chic was also a member of the Fortville VFW Post 6904, the Fortville American Legion Post 319, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis.

Survivors include his wife, Louise (Seyfferle) Apple; son, Larry (Millie) Apple, daughter, Bev (Michael) Wilson, son, Ron Apple, all of McCordsville; grandchildren, Pete Apple; Jamie (Robbins) Diller; Tony Wilson, Kurt Wilson and Kris (Wilson) Jones; 11 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Ray; and sisters Marie Stoner and Gennetta Jones.
