Horace Seth Barnes was the son of Bartholomew Barnes 1798 and Polly Sara Pierce.

He married Celestia Viola Cobb about 1857. The couple lived in Alden until 1900. They were living at 344 Bissell Avenue, Buffalo, in 1903.

Children:

Homer A 1860, married Carrie E Danser, lived in Buffalo Ward 12, buried in the Beeman Pioneer Cemetery in Clarence, Erie, New York. Three children.

Henry Wheaton 1862, married Hannah Maria Shea, lived in Buffalo Ward 12, one child Henry W 1893. Buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna.

Harrison Tracy John 1866, married Honora Nora Mangavin, lived in Buffalo Ward 18 and 12, four children.

Emma J 1869. Living with parents as late as 1892. May have married a Frederick Keyler or Keller.

John Hiram 1873, married Minnie E Gesse, lived in York, Livingston County, New York, and Alexander, Genesee County, and Buffalo, New York, buried in Evergreen Hill Cemetery (this cemetery) with wife Minnie. One child Dorothy 1907.
