Emma was the youngest of 4 children. She had 2 older sisters, Minnie and Sue, and an older brother, John Jr. Her mother died when Emma was just 13. Her mother was blind, but still somehow knew Emma was a red head. She met her husband in Ill., and after the birth of their son, my daddy, they moved to Texas, because he had asthma. I remember her telling me a story about her phone number, (when she was a young woman), being 2 longs and a short, (dashes). She was my red-headed MeMe, and I miss her so.
