Akron with Monsignor Richard Zenk celebrating. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery

Pallbearers were Tom Dennison, Leonard Buryanek, Larry Noll, Gilbert Lilly, Jell Lahr
and Ryan Lahr. ,
Thomas Louis "Tom" Martin was born June 9, 1924 in Westfield, the son of A .A and
Anna (Ryan) Martin. He attended school in Westfield and graduated from Westfield High
School. He attended Trinity College in Sioux City.
He married to Jeanine Neal on January 19, 1951 at St. Catherines Catholic Church in
Westfield The couple farmed in the Westfield area for many years. Jeanine passed away
June 2,1995. He had been a resident of the Akron Care Center for two and a half years
He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and later St. Patricks Catholic
Church in Akron where he served on the parish council for both churches. He was a former
school board member for the Westfield school district. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, hunting,
bowling, but most of all being outdoors on the farm.
Survivors include his six children, Thomas M. Martin and his wife, Sylvia of Amissville,
VA Helen Buchholz and Tom Baker of North Sioux City, SD, Delores Moss and her husband
Dale of Brandon, SD, John Martin and his wife, Corinne of Westfield, Paul Martin of
Westfield, and Michael of Westfield; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters
Margaret Donnelly and her husband, Paul of Miami, FL, and Mary Malloy of Omaha; and
several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Jim; and a sister, Catherine Q Connor.
