Thomas and Cynthia were married 11 Dec. 1831 in Kingston. In 1832 they purchased their homestead with one acre of land at the SE corner of Summer St and Foster Lane in Kingston. That house was built in 1766 by Nathan Bradford, a great grandson of Governor Bradford of Plymouth Colony, on part of a large land grant received by Governor Bradford, and still stands. Thomas's trade was making augers for shipbuilding in Plymouth. In 1864 one of his lungs was punctured in the auger factory. He died 4 years later as a result of that accident. Cynthia continued to live there until her death in 1894. Thomas and Cynthia were devout Christians and attended the Baptist Meeting House in town, 3 worship services on Sundays and the weekly prayer meeting. Both were baptized in the Jones River, the river named after Captain Jones of the Mayflower.
