Renowned Paleontologist, Evolutionist, and Author. Taught and perfomed research at Columbia University, Harvard University (professor of vertebrate paleontology), and the University of Arizonia (professor of geosciences. He authored the books "Tempo and Mode in Evolution" (1944), "Evolution and Geography" (1953), "Life: An Introduction to Biology" (1957-with Colin S. Pittendrigh and Lewis H. Tiffany), and "The Major Features of Evolution (1965)."
