SANDY - Marvin Millian Bird age 89, died September 17, 1984.
He was born April 22, 1895, in Murray, Utah to Charles E and Mary Ann Stevensen Bird. he married Mabel Elvera Peterson, November 8, 1916, in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. She died November 30, 1969. He was a long time resident of Sandy City, Utah. Active in Civic Affairs. At one time was City Councilman and a member of the Sandy and State Firemans Association. Employed by Jordan School District for 35 years. In later years he became a School Crossing Guard for the Sandy Elementary School, a position he enjoyed because of his great love for children.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-las, Elvera B and Everett L Cooley, Salt lake City, a daughter-in-law, Barbara Y. Bird, Salt Lake City; 6 grandchildren, Janene C. Brown, Karen C. Milne, Pamela B. Hoffman, Sharon B. Gardner, Gregory M. Bird, Debra B. Mategil, 12 great-grandchildren, sister, Hazel B Carlisle, Murray. Preceded in death by a son, Glen M. Bird, December 20, 1976.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary Chapel, 8090 So. State where friends may call Wednesday prior to services. Family suggests contributions to the Primary Children's Hospital. Interment Sandy City Cemetery.
