Keisha Michelle Walker

Miss Keisha Walker of Slocomb went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Flowers Hospital. She was 28.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010 in Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Slocomb with Rev. Scott Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1149, Slocomb, AL 36375.

Keisha was born on May 5, 1982 in Geneva County, AL to Cindy Mitchell and the late Tommy Joe Walker. Keisha was a beloved daughter and sister and even though her life was filled with many hurdles, she always did her best, and with the grace of God, overcame all of life's obstacles. She enjoyed many activities in her short life including: playing city league softball for Slocomb and miracle field softball (The Rays) at Westgate Park in Dothan. She loved to ride her go cart, motorcycle and four-wheeler. She loved jewelry, playing her game boy, coloring and drawing.

Her father and her twin brother, Keith Thomas Walker, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her mother and step-father: Cindy and Ralph Mitchell of Slocomb; two brothers: Tommy Joe Walker, Jr. and his wife, Robin, of Geneva; and Gabriel Lee Mitchell of Auburn. Her aunts, uncles and cousins also loved her.
