Thomas White Alexander Sr., 56, of 801 Eddystone Ave.,Eddystone, died Thursday at Taylor Hospital, Ridley Park.

Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Delaware County 26 years and worked in the construction industry. He was, Eddystone's building inspector. Mr. Alexander's memberships included Penn Lodge 709, Free and Accepted Masons; West End Boat Club, Eddystone Fire Co. and St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Chester.

He is survived by his widow, the former Margaret Grantham; a son, Thomas W. Jr., Fishkill, N.Y.; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Moody, Brookhaven; brothers, John, Chester; Oliver, Aston; sister; Mrs. Ella Mahon, Aston; Mrs. Clarence Houpt, Prospect Park; Mrs. Fred Herbert, Corpus Christi, Tex.; Mrs. Frank Dougherty, Chester, and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 9th and Madison Sts. Burial will be in Chester Rural Cemetery. Viewing will be after 7 p.m. Monday at William S. Bleyler Funeral Home, 500 W. 22nd St., Chester.
