Senior Master Sgt. Jimmie L. Jones (Ret.), U.S. Air Force, 78, of Enterprise, died Sept. 3. Graveside memorial services with military honors were held Sept. 10 at the Enterprise Cemetery.
Jim was born Aug. 31, 1932, to Clarence and Myrtle Reister Jones in Paoli, Ind. He grew up in Paoli and entered the Air Force in 1952. He was stationed in England, where he met and married Brenda in 1954.
After retiring from the Air Force in 1972, Jim and Brenda settled in Enterprise, where he worked at Milligan Motors and was active in the local VFW.
Jim enjoyed woodworking, including building furniture and home improvements, and fixing cars. He was an avid fisherman and camper. Most of all, he liked spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; children, Max Jones of Pendleton and Pier Jones of La Grande; sisters, Sue Baldwin of Orleans, Ind., Mabel Hornbeck of Paoli, Marty Law of Streetman, Texas, and Ann Marie Jones of Paoli; and a grandson and his wife. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dean Lindley Jones.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or the American Cancer Society in care of Bollman Funeral Home, Enterprise.
