In the pension file was a copy of a marriage certificate for Richard and Miss Margaret Janes (also Jones) who were wed in Gloucester Co. on 16 March, 1843. There is a supporting deposition from a 38 year old teamster, Isaac Lippincott, who in 1885 stated his father, Richard B. Lippincott had died in late April 1881 at Haddonfield. A daughter Josephine (Mrs. Robert Spond) stated her mother and father did not live together. A widow's pension was filed for Widow Lippincott in August of 1890 and Margaret Lippincott died in the poor house about June 1897.

Article on burial, published in Bridgeton, Cumberland Co, NJ newspaper "Bridgeton Pioneer" on Thurs. April 3rd 1884, pg 1:
"The body of Richard B. Lippincott, a member of Co. F, 24th Regiment, New Jersey Volunteers, which was buried in the Potter's Field in Delaware Township, Camden Co., in 1881, was exhumed a day or two ago by Comrades Wayne and Busha, of Davis Post, G.A.R., who were led to the spot by an Overseer of the Poor David Southard. At the foot of the tree in very light soil the body was found but the coffin was very heavy. Upon raising it, the lid was partially lifted and the discovery made that the body was in a state of petrification. The coffin had partially fallen away as had the clothes on the body. The affair attracts interest as the body had been lying in the ground but three years, which is apparently a very short space of time for petrification. Whether it was caused by the nature of the soil or from other reasons, is not known."
