Alma Leota Bolar, 95, of Litchfield, died Thurs., Mar. 27, 2014 at 8:45 a.m. in Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Litchfield. She was born on Oct. 26, 1918 in Waggoner, IL, a daughter of Walter & Lillie (Pratt) Simmons. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. Anne's Altar Society and VFW Post #3912 Ladies Auxiliary, all in Litchfield. In the past, Alma played on the Brown Shoe Company's fast-pitch softball team in Litchfield known as, "The Airstepper's." She worked at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield as a nurse's aide for several years. She married Matthew Thomas Bolar on Nov. 15, 1937 in Crown Point, IN. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2005.
