Charles William "Bill" Boehler, 85, of Litchfield, died Sun., Feb. 26, 2012 at 5:25 p.m. in St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. He was born on Nov. 7, 1926 in Zanesville Twp., a son of Earl & Evah (Fite) Boehler and attended Lilly School in rural Raymond. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Litchfield. He worked for 28 years at the Oldsmobile Dealership on Old Route 66 under Kelly Durbin, Bill Yates & Hans Schmidt. For a short time he worked for the Litchfield Food Locker as a butcher. He also farmed the family farm with the help of his cousin, the late Roy Etter. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing cards while he was able & working on his car but his greatest pleasure was dancing. He married
Helen Maxine Taylor on Nov. 27, 1948 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Litchfield. She survives. He is also survived by: 2 daughters, Sue (Greg) Penderghest of Decatur, and Marcie (Mark) Hartke of Litchfield. 3 grandchildren, Emily Penderghest of Indianapolis, IN, Monica Penderghest of Decatur, Jared William Hartke of Charleston, SC, 1 sister, Wanda (Steve) Miller; Sister-in-law, Roberta Boehler, ALL of Raymond. Several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glenn Boehler.
