William Henry Dostall, 80, died at Elyria Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

Born Dec. 5, 1909, he was a life-long resident of the Amherst and Elyria areas.

He was employed 30 years as an enamel sprayer at the Pfuadler Co., Elyria, before retiring in 1969.

Dostall served with the US Army during World War II, and landed at Normandy on D-Day.

Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline Rieth of Elyria; sons, Leonard C and Richer Peden, both of Elyria' a sister, Margaret Trumble of Madison, Ohio; nine granddaughters and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina (nee Folley), in 1979; brothers, Carl, Julius, Fred, Howard and Robert; sisters, Elizabeth and Emma.

Service were at the Curtis-Scheuffler Funeral Home where the Rev. Arthur Long of Washington Avenue Christian Church, Elyria officiated. Burial was in Brookdale Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Ronald McDonald House.
