Mary Celica (Stehr) Clement, 1889-1968

Mrs. Mary Clement, 79, died Wednesday in Le Mars. Mrs. Clement had been in ill health for 10 years.

She was born Mary C. Stehr, May 7, 1889 in Cherokee county and was a lifelong resident of Cherokee and Plymouth counties. She lived in Cherokee county until 1907 when she moved to the Remsen vicinity. In 193? She moved to Le Mars.

Her marriage to Theodore Carl Clement took place Dec. 23, 1907, at Remsen. She was the daughter of the late August and Carolina Horn Stehr. Her husband preceded her in death, Nov. 6, 1936, just 32 years to the date of her death, also on Nov. 6.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, at Grace Lutheran church, Le Mars. Rev. Lowell Boettcher will officiate and burial will be in the Remsen city cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home in Le Mars.

A prayer service will be held Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Matgen, Le Mars, and Mrs. Edna Blankenburg, Hinton; a son Eldon of Le Mars, six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Anna Wilhelmi, Chicago.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; a son, Wilbert, who died in 1959; two brothers, Henry and Otto, and a sister Mrs. Mathilda Ott.

Mrs. Clement was a member of Grace Lutheran church in Le Mars.
