Mr Franklin
C Woodrow Franklin, 60, of the Clark's Chapel Community, died Wednesday, December 30, at Angel Community Hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Macon County, the son of the late Jerry H and Inez Ledbetter Franklin, and was married to Grace Rogers Franklin, who survives. He was co-owner of Franklin Packing Company for 23 years, employed as salesman for East Tennessee Packing Company for six years and employed for a time as meat cutter for Fowler's Supermarket in Cashiers.
Also surviving are three sons, Jim and Larry Franklin, both of Atlanta, GA, and Hugh Franklin of Franklin; a daughter, Mrs Jean Johnson, of Chesapeake, VA; a brother, Wayne Franklin, of Franklin; two sisters, Mattie Potts, of Annadale, VA, and Mildred Wilmoth, of Elkins, WV; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday at Clark's Chapel United Methodist Church and Burial was in the church cemetery. The Revs Gerald Collins and Judson Hall officiated.
Pallbearers were Les VanHook, Harold McClure, Charles Doster, Jerry Button, Earl Justice and George Ray.
Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
