Margaret was born in West, Texas, to the late Ignatius and Anastacia "Annie" (Sulak) Hutyra. She attended the Alligator School and St. Mary's School. On March 5, 1946 she was united in marriage to Alphonse T. Cocek in West. Margaret worked for Lorch Manufacturing and Al's Cleaners for many years before retiring in 2000. She had previously been a waitress for the old Friendship Café. Margaret was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was also a member of S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 54 and the Catholic Daughters of America Court No 829. Margaret enjoyed family holiday gatherings, baking, gardening, canning pickles and beets and could grow anything, especially roses. She was a resident of West Rest Haven where she was recently named resident of the month.
She was preceded in death by her husband on January 3, 1981; daughter, Margaret "Marty" Anderson; brothers, Patrick Hutyra and Walter Hutyra; and sisters, Bernice Lichnovsky, Bridgette Wrbas, and Angela Kelinske.
Survivors include son, Alphonse "Buddy" Cocek and wife, Stasie, of Houston; son-in-law, Eddie L. Anderson, of West; grandchildren, Michele Boles and husband, Kyle, Shawn Lee and husband, Paul, Brandy Archdale and husband, Brian, Jason Anderson and wife, Nichole, Kendra DeLucia and husband, Damon, and Jonathan Cocek and wife, Chrystal; great-grandchildren, Peyton DeLucia, Troy Cocek, Skylar Trujillo, Cameron Lee, Reagan Lee, Edward Lee, Brodi Archdale, Brogan Archdale, Brooks Anderson, and Abigail Anderson; brother, Ignatius Hutyra Jr. and wife, Rosalee, of Elm Mott; sisters, Benice "Bennie" Koen and husband, KoKo, of West, Josephine Kocian, of West, and Evelyn Wilson, of Los Palermo, California; sister-in-law, Georgia Mae Hutyra, of Hillsboro; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
