The following was written on May 23, 2012, her 100th birthday:

Today, May 23rd, would have been Aunt Madeline's 100th birthday. What a loving aunt she was! She lived to the age of 89. Born on the floor of our family ranch house in Tuttletown, she was the last of three and the second to survive birth. Grandma had her on the floor so the bedding and mattress wouldn't get soiled. Aunt Madeline was a school bus driver in Tranquility, California. I remember her telling me about a little boy who told her he wished she was his bus driver because she didn't yell at the kids. I never heard her yell nor saw her angry.
