MARK MAUDLIN, 64, lost his hard fought battle with cancer Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, in Fort Wayne. Born in Lancaster, Ohio, he was employed with Navistar for 35 years, retiring in 2000. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Covenant United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 499. "He was known for his ready smile, infectious laugh and natural optimism." He loved golf, trips to Cooperstown with his sons, and time spent with his family and beloved grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Mary (Emery) Maudlin of Fort Wayne; son, Matthew (Kristie) Maudlin of Brownsburg, Ind.; son, Andrew (Lorrie) Maudlin of Fishers, Ind.; grandchildren, Emma, Jenna, Ethan, Evelyn, Hanna, and Sarah; brother, Ray (Sheryll) Maudlin of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, John (Ellen) Maudlin of Lake Mary, Fla.; and brother, Nathan (Jeanne) Maudlin of New Harmony, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira M. and Dorothy M. Maudlin. Funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Jan Funk officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at the funeral home. Graveside service is 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Logans-port, Ind., with nephew, Rev. Alex Beane officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Covenant United Methodist Church.
