J. H. Moore:
Mr. J. H. Moore was born near Muldoon, Fayette County, Texas, October 10, 1845, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ella Hodges, in Fredericksburg, Texas on September 6, 1931, at the age of 73 years, 10 months, and 26 days old.
In 1876 he was married to Miss Laura Phillips, who preceded him in death nineteen years ago. This union was blessed with 11 children, two of which died in early childhood. The deceased leaves nine children: Mrs. Dora Tunnell of Tahoka, Texas; Mrs. Ella Hodges, of Fredericksburg; Mrs. Maggie Johnson of Cherokee; Lit Moore of Wilson, Texas; Ben Moore of O'Donnel, Texas, Ernst Moore of Lampasas; Mrs. Nora Patterson of Ft. Stockton; Charlie Moore of Lone Grove, Texas; Mrs. Pearl Speed of Lampasas. Four brothers, three sisters, 27 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many friends to mourn his departure.
The deceased was reared under Christian influence in the Primitive Baptist Church. He lived an active life as Stockman for many years, and at one time served s County Commission of Blanco County. He was an honest man, a loving father, and a loyal Citizen has gone to his reward.
Internment was made in the Rocky Cemetary, September 8, 1931 at 10:30 A. M. Rev. Richard Grasenthaler, Methohdist minster of Fredericksburg officiating. A selected quartet sang several songs at the grave.
