LONGMEADOW- Emma (Katz) Levin, 91 of Longmeadow died Wednesday Feb. 4 at a local nursing home. She was born in Springfield and was a life long resident. She was a graduate of Commerce High School class of 1933. Emma worked at Country Club Soda, Blakes Department Store, Steiger's Department Store as a salesperson, and in her 80's she was a greeter for Ames Department Store. She was a former member of Beth Israel Synagogue, a member of Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy, Senior Class at Baystate Medical Center, Jewish War Veterans Women's Auxillary, a longtime volunteer for the Jewish Nursing Home Gift Shop and was a volunteer knitter for the Springfield JCC. She enjoyed baking and was an avid collector of clowns. Emma was predeceased by her husband Leon Levin who died in 1985. She leaves her children Elliott Levin of Agawam and Joan Kramer of Tucson, AZ., four grandchildren; David, Dara, Bonnie and Martin, four great grandchildren; Micaela, Tessa, Michael and Mia, a brother Bernie Katz of Silver Spring, MD., sister Be Cagan of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Sunday 11:00 AM at the Ascher-Zimmerman Funeral Home with burial at City of Homes Cemetery . Shiva will be at the home of Elliott Levin 258 Regency Park Drive, Agawam with evening services Sun. - Tues.
